What types of children do you work with?I treat communication and feeding needs in young children. How much speech therapy will my child need?I wish I had an easy answer for this, but it really depends on your child! Every child has different roadblocks and ultimately develops and learns at a different pace. I'll give your child the tools to improve communication and/or feeding skills. We'll celebrate each step of progress your little one makes, and adjust strategies as needed so they can keep learning and growing!

What forms of payment do you accept?When you set up your account through the client portal, I'll have you put a card on file. Most people choose to have me charge that card each session, but I also accept cash or check. The card can be credit, debit, HSA, or FSA. Payment is due at the time of service.

Do you work with children with Autism?Yes! I have experience working with young children with a with a variety of diagnoses. Some of these include prematurity, Autism, Down Syndrome, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Spina Bifida, and more. I do not work with children require high-tech AAC devices; however I'm happy to refer you to other practices that do this if needed!

Can siblings be present for therapy sessions?Of course! If siblings are home, then they are likely a part of your child's daily routines, and a welcome part of your child's therapy session.

Do you treat clients in South Carolina?I only take North Carolina clients. I primarily work with families in and around Belmont. Keeping clients in a small geographical area helps me keep my practice small and ensures I give my best to each of the families I work with!

My child's grandparents usually watch her during the day. Could you include them in sessions?Absolutely! During intake, I'll have you complete paperwork specifying the people I am allowed to discuss your child's progress with, and as long as they are on the list we can make it happen.

What do you mean by routine-based?Just about anything your child does day-to-day can be used to build communication! During sessions, we'll walk through your family's routines, implementing speech and language strategies to promote new skills and carryover. Some examples of a child's daily routines are brushing teeth, washing hands, eating snacks, getting dressed, and playing with toys.

Do you take insurance?I currently only accept Aetna, BCBS, NC Medicaid, and private-pay clients. I do accept HSA & FSA payments. For private-pay clients I provide "superbills" upon request that you can submit to your insurance company for processing. If your insurance accepts the charge, this would count towards your Out-of-Network benefits.
